In a MotelI hate this motel hallway. The carpet is dark and unfriendly. I can't tell whether its brown hue is due to old age, dirt or design. Beneath it, the floor boards creak painfully. As I stare at the fabric beneath my shoes I notice torn patches, the results of years of dragging furniture back and forth as though changing the position of the hallway table will suddenly turn this pathetic motel into a five star mansion.In a Motel
